Tropical storm approaches Palau
Tropical storm has been located 150 miles east-southeast of Palau, moving west at 29 mph., according to the National Emergency Management Office (NEMO) this morning.
The advisory stated that current position of the storm to pass south of Koror this afternoon.
Heavy rain, isolated thunderstorms and windier conditions about 25-30 mph w/ wind gust up to 50 mph expected this afternoon to evening. Sea & surf conditions may be hazardous.
According to Relief Web, new Tropical Cyclone named TWO formed south-east of Guam on 9 February and started moving west as a Tropical Depression.
It said that theat it is forecast to keep moving west toward the Philippines strengthening and it may pass close or over Yap Island (Federate States of Micronesia) on 10 February afternoon UTC and north of Palau on 11 February.
Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds may affect several areas of Yap Island and Palau over 10-11 February. As of 9 February at 7.45 UTC, a tropical storm watch remains in effect for Fais, Ulithi, Yap and Ngulu (Yap Island).
