Water Service Back to 24/7
Substantial amount of rainfall these past several days have allowed Palau Public Utilities Corporation (PPUC) to resume 24-hour water service to Koror and Airai residents.

The latest change removing water restriction is effective today, May 9, for Koror-Airai Public Water Supply System customers.
“Due to all the recent rainfall, water levels have increased at the two water sources for Koror and Airai. This has allowed for increased water production and storage,” said PPUC public announcement issued this afternoon.
Helping with improved water supply is Ngerimel Dam which was integrated back into the system on May 6. Ngerimel Dam supplies about one-third of the 3.8 million gallons per day that comes out of Ngeruluobel Water Treatment Plant.Water rationing hours was implemented on the same day the 20 million gallons manmade reservoir was taken out of commission.
Return to regular water hours comes almost two-months after PPUC first implemented water rationing for Koror-Airai public water supply system on March 12.
Meanwhile, PPUC will continue to monitor the Koror-Airai water sources and inform the public of any changes. The utilities company is reminding the public to refrain from washing cars, driveways, walkways and other non-essential activities until the situation further improves.
According to weather forecast, there is more optimism for improved water situation with rains to continue for the rest of the week.
